Being a CJ Moon story, it’s also multi-layered.
With its vivid descriptions, whimsical humour and soft, flirty exchanges, it’s a very enjoyable read.
Another layer is the juxtaposition between outer demands and inner needs, but what gradually emerges is the healing art of simplicity. In this day and age, it’s becoming an endangered species when it shouldn’t be.
Simply enjoying breakfast with someone without smartphones or impending agendas.
Simply walking on foot side by side with that someone when driving would be more efficient.
And suddenly, you’re more connected than if you’ve been on social media for a week.
Both more known and more aware of the other.
