Busan Boys 5 (6)

Story Image

Busan Boys is a soft, emotional JiKook prequel exploring the earliest days of Jimin and Jungkook's connection - before anything had a name, before anything was certain… when everything was just beginning.

Park Jimin came to Seoul to prove himself.

But in a small agency with too many trainees and not enough places on the team, nothing feels certain - not his place, not his future, not even where he belongs.

And then there’s Jungkook.

Quiet. Observant. Always a step ahead when the music starts… and somehow a step back when it stops.

They don’t mean to notice each other.
They don’t mean to grow closer.

But in a life that feels unfamiliar and uncertain, sometimes the smallest things begin to matter.

A shared hometown.
A quiet understanding.
A hand reaching out in the dark. Commissioned by NJD

This is one-of-a-kind story, nothing quite like it in the catalogue (perhaps reminiscent of the masterpiece ‘Pure’ in its mood) and so worth re-reading.
Masterfully bringing to the fore what it's like to be noticed gently and carefully, but unmistakably.
Indeed, when you’re preoccupied with a hundred and one things and your future uncertain as Jimin’s is here, then when a certain someone still manages to pull you out of all concerns, you can’t help but sit and pay attention.
Shared hometown, fate, gravity – something pulling two worlds closer and closer until hand meets hand in the quiet of the night and the heart eases.
Hoping for a sequel to this fascinating story.

A pre-debut story Jimin becoming the new trainee and trying to prove himself. Finding an Busan boy in Jungkookie and them becoming each others anchor. Jimin wonder about the youngest member and trying to figure him out, while feeling it is ok that his thoughts longer on him and finding him cute. Really quoted the day for me today and I’ve already read it twice. The beginning of a wonderful relationship starts to bloom here.
