Jimin lives for twinkle lights, glittery displays and over-the-top festive bakes at Mimi’s. Jungkook runs Midnight Crumb like a precision machine and thinks Christmas is loud, sticky chaos he’d rather avoid. When a “smug little note” in a Mimi’s delivery bag pushes Jungkook into entering the town’s Christmas Bake Off just to beat Jimin, the flour starts to fly.
Forced to share an oven and a schedule in the crowded market hall kitchen, their rivalry turns into late-night baking sessions, long-overdue honesty, and the kind of slow, sweet heat that feels a lot like falling in love. There might be only one trophy… but winning was never really about the judges.
Two rival bakeries. One Christmas Bake Off. And a shared oven that definitely isn’t the only thing feeling the heat.

One of the very first CJ/Jimin-Jungkook story I’ve ever read (drawn by the title) when all was shiny and new and a little overwhelming.
It took a much later reread to ‘get’ it.
This story brought home how little every-day incidents could have pivotal emotional impact.
It could be a laugh at a workshop, a chance note or a missed moment to step through that door.
Sometimes this could be all it takes to start something beautiful and profound or to let it quietly dissolve in the daily hustle and bustle or in the easy assumptions people are prone to make.
Luckily, the fates worked in mysterious ways (like through a Jin the subtle matchmaker) and new little moments could tip the scale in favour of coming together.
While the Christmas mood made this one more of a sugary read with a hint of spice, it threaded deeper emotional dynamics even in such a short amount of space.
Both refreshing and comforting, highly recommended.
„Jimin’s heart dropped sraight through his chest and hit the soles of his feet.” That just says it all. Such a sweet, comforting heartfelt story that just makes you all warm and fuzzy.
This is a delightful, heartwarming tale of slightly delayed fate. As sweet as the ganache frosting on a perfectly baked cake. It leaves you feeling warm and comforted.
