New Year’s Eve at a luxury hotel is supposed to glitter - but for Jimin, it feels like an exercise in survival only. He’s running the event, smiling through exhaustion, and doing everything he can to avoid the one guest he never wanted to see again: his persistent ex who refuses to take no for an answer.
Enter Jungkook - quiet, plain-clothes security, with sharp eyes, steady hands, and a kindness Jimin’s been secretly crushing on for months. When Jimin whispers, “Save me from my ex,” Jungkook does more than step in. He becomes a shield. A fake boyfriend. A safe place.
What begins as protection turns into something warmer, deeper -- and when midnight hits, neither of them can pretend it was just an act.
This story is soft, protective, slow-burn yearning that turns into tender heat -- about being believed, feeling safe, and choosing love that will stay well into the New Year and beyond!

One of the most impactful stories! It's not very often that I see feeling safe in a relationship so emphasized or the often invisible issue of psychological boundaries infringement taken seriously within the plot. Trust and safety really stood out to me in this one and then the slow-burn romance made natural sense. Wholesome story that I revisited three times in a row. Not because it leaves you hungry for more but just to commit the nourishment to memory to pull out when needed.
When a man shows you he’s hardworking, reliable, kind, strong, basically an exemplary human being. And he wants you. But only if you want to be wanted.
Jimin deserves to be loved fully and Jungkook is ready to do just that. A heartwarming, gentle read.
